I built the backend of Collectors Weekly, a resource for collectors and people who love antiques. The site is a must for anyone interested in collectibles, from the casual browser to the avid enthusiast. The site contains information on everything from Grateful Dead collectibles to vintage corkscrews. The site also has a rapidly growing database of Hall of Fame websites that cover particular collecting categories in-depth.
One of the big draws on the site is its intimate linking with eBay, the world’s best resource for purchasable collectibles. I built an automated system that communicates with eBay to download and display highly targeted auction listings. This system been specially trained to take only the best of eBay’s vast supply of collectibles. A custom-built caching system keeps the site running wickedly fast, despite the demanding processing requirements of synthesizing eBay’s data.
